FAQ

Is Sherri a professionally licensed stylist?

Yes! I began my cosmetology career in 2011 and am licensed and insured.

How do I get you booked for my big day?

1. fill out the inquiry form under 'contact' so I can check my availability.
2. If available, I will send out a quote- but I will reply either way :)
3. Accept the quote and pay your $200 deposit (deposit goes towards your wedding day balance)

4. Receive and sign your contract
Everything can be done online, making the booking process seamless!

After I inquire, does my wedding date go on hold?

Dates cannot be held without a deposit and filled out contract. There are only 22 Saturday's in prime wedding season and dates go quickly. If you are thinking of booking, don't wait! Quotes are valid for 5 days, but they don't secure your date.

Do you come to me or do I come to you?

All wedding day services are performed at a location of the bride's choosing. Usually, girls get ready at a hotel that's close to their wedding venue. Bridal suites at wedding venue's may not alllow early entry to perform services there. I travel in and around Columbus, Ohio, Lancaster, New Albany, Hocking Hills, etc.

Do you bring a second stylist?

Any bridal party that exceeds 8 people or has an early ceremony time will need a second stylist.  If you have 8 or more people, or have an early ceremony, let me know and I will check to see if my second stylist is available. If she is, a $200 second artist fee will apply, as well as travel for that second artist. You also have the option of hiring your own second artist.

How long does it take per person?

For the wedding day timeline, I book 1.5 hours with the bride and 45 minutes for each bridesmaid/other hair. This is the MINIMUM amount of time required. As an example, a wedding party of 6 (a bride and 5 bridesmaids) gets booked for 5 hours, 15 minutes. I book a maximum of 8 hair and do not provide a second stylist.

Can we have a later start time so we don't have to wake up so early?

Hair and makeup start times are all determined on how early your ceremony time is. Hair and makeup must be completed with time to spare for the photographer to get all needed shots of you and your wedding party prior to the ceremony, therefore the wedding morning timeline is non-negotiable. Prepare for a total of 5-7 hours of getting ready time to have a smooth stress free morning. Work cannot (and should not) be rushed on the wedding day!

Do you do prom hair, elopement hairstyling and other hairstyling?

Yes! I welcome everyone that needs hairstyling: prom hair, elopement hair, engagement photo hair, maternity photos, etc.

Do you offer wedding hair preview appointments?

Yes, a hair preview is highly recommended and is located in Lancaster, OH, about 30 minutes south of Columbus. A hair preview appointment is scheduled for 2 hours and is the perfect chance to make sure your dream hair matches your total vision of how you will look. A preview guide is sent out before the appointment so you can be sure to make the most out of the time we have together.

Is there a service minimum to book you?

Yes, I require a minimum of 5 services (the bride plus 4 others, not including the flower girl) in order to reserve your day if it's a Friday or Saturday wedding. I sometimes can make exceptions for weddings that are not on Friday's or Saturday's, or for weddings that are in the 'off' season, i.e. November-April.

When should I schedule my bridal hair preview for?

I book all previews for the year between January-May, Monday-Friday's between 10A-1P.

How should I prep my hair before my preview/before my wedding day?

CLEAN, DRY hair- 1 day old max. Always blowdry hair at the scalp up and away from the scalp for maximum volume. If you let your hair air dry, it lays flat on the scalp and dries flat on the scalp, making it hard to get rid of any partings and hard to get maximum volume. When washing your hair before the preview or wedding, avoid putting conditioner on your roots. Avoid any heavy serums or high hold hair sprays. Do not straighten the hair at anytime after washing.

When is payment due?

Payment for the wedding day remaining balance is due the week before the wedding. This eliminates collecting payment on the wedding day, as wedding days have a lot going on and are on a tight timeline.
